Chepstow 17-18 March 2012

This inland weekend recreational trip takes us to the Day House Quarry, home of the National Diving & Activity Centre at Tidenham, near Chepstow www.ndac.co.uk on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March 2012, with depths from 6M to 76M, there's something to suit every level of diving experience from open water to technical diving. Winter weekend opening times are 8 am to 5 pm and the admission price is £15 per diver, per day. If you're a member of the centre, admission is discounted to £10 per day.   Chepstow offers excellent diving facilities and an exciting variety of underwater attractions, including a troop carrier, double decker bus, BAE 146 aircraft, Wessex helicopter Mk5, North Sea diving bell, Stalwart amphibious vehicle, cruisers, Landrover Lagoon, Mondeo Reef and plenty more http://www.ndac.co.uk/attractions.htm  

Accommodation. We're staying at the Old Ferry Inn www.theoldferryinn.co.uk for one night only in Bleachley by the side of the old Severn Bridge, about 10 minutes drive from the dive centre. Diver training. Chepstow is an ideal location to improve your dive skills in preparation for the season ahead. PADI training courses with a Dive Wimbledon instructor are available on this trip, including Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Enriched Air Diver, Drysuit Diver, Underwater Navigation and the Rescue course. This trip costs £70 for club members and £80 for non club members. It includes two days diving (two or three dives each day), B&B accommodation on Saturday, 17 March, including a full English breakfast.   It excludes the cost of getting there (it's 131 miles from SW19, South West London - we'll sort out car sharing arrangements nearer the time), gas fills, other meals, general spending money, diver training courses.

Diver certification, dive kit and previous experience. All diving will be planned within recreational limits. Minimum diver qualification is PADI Open Water or equivalent. Full scuba diving kit, including an appropriate exposure suit and a good torch are essential. Divers must be over 21 years of age. If this is your first trip with the organiser, you will be asked to provide evidence of your certification and experience, remember to bring your logbook and certification cards with you.  

To book a place on this trip, a £35 deposit is required for accommodation, Chepstow admission fees (£15 per diver, per day), are payable by directly by you over the weekend.  

Cancellation policy. Deposit refunds for cancellations made in advance of the balance due date can only be given once the trip is full and another diver has taken your place. For cancellations made after the balance has been paid, no refund can be given until your place is sold to another diver. If we are successfull, you will receive a full refund, minus any reduction agreed between you and the buyer of your place. In the event of adverse weather conditions or "force majeur" causing cancellation of the arrangements, your payment for that part of the booking will be refunded after the trip. This only applies to day boat charter fees, it excludes accommodation, admission fees and liveaboards, unless specifically stated in the trip details.    

Health and saftey on the trip. It is important you read and comply with all the safety instructions printing on the reverse of your Chepstow entry slip, both in and out of the water. Make sure you dive within the limits of your dive certification, experience and comfort level. If you experience a dive related problem, make others aware of it immediately. Familiarise yourself with each dive site where possible and agree a dive plan with your buddy. In an emergency, you are reminded you have responsibility for the first actions to effect a successful rescue, without endangering yourself.
