Scuba diving is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and the quality of training and equipment available this century has also made it one of the safest. Dive Balham, Dive Kingston, Dive Putney, Dive Fulham and Dive Wimbledon have a perfect safety record as do all their PADI instructors and divemasters. We pride ourselves on the quality and thoroughness of our instruction and believe we offer the best diving courses in London.

There are three options when you learn to scuba dive. The first is a non qualification introduction pool dive called Discover Scuba Diving. The other two options lead to full certification as divers whether completing overseas with the PADI Referral Course or in the UK with the full PADI Open Water Course.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving gives you the opportunity to experience scuba diving in a pool before committing to an official certification course. If you are keen to learn to dive properly this is not a prerequisite so you can go on straight on to the PADI Open Water Referral course or full PADI Open Water Diver course below.

DETAILS Upon signing up you will receive your PADI Discover Scuba Diving booklet which includes the medical questionnaire. The session starts with an explanation of how the equipment works and of the most important safety rules in diving. Then the fun begins with an hour swimming in the shallow water and experiencing diving for the first time.
COMPLETION Now you know how safe and easy diving can be it is time to take the next step and move on to PADI Open Water or Referral Course.
PREREQUISITES A simple medical form needs to be completed
COST £40 (1:1 £60)
DURATION 2 hours
LOCATION We use several pools in Wandsworth, Kingston Upon Thames and Lambeth in South West London including Tooting Leisure Centre, Putney Leisure Centre, Southfields Community College and Wimbledon Leisure Centre.
Saturday courses run from 6 - 8pm and Sunday courses from 6.30 - 8.30pm
PADI Discover Scuba Diving

PADI Open Water Course

There are two options when you decide to take the PADI Open Water Course in London. The first is the Referral course which consists of all the theory and pool skills required for the PADI Open Water course, but allows you the flexibility to complete the course with 4 Open Water dives at a later date, perhaps here in the UK, or abroad on holiday. Upon satisfactorily completing the 4 Open Water dives you receive your PADI Open Water Diver certification which is valid for life.

Our PADI Open Water Referral Course will provide you with a safe and thorough training background so you can confidently complete these dives overseas or in the UK.
DETAILS Upon signing up you will receive your PADI Open Water scuba diving manual, dive tables, logbook and video/ DVD. The course consists of 5 theory modules taught in 2 classroom sessions and 5 swimming pool modules taught in 2 sessions
REQUIREMENTS Read and complete your PADI Open Water dive manual and knowledge reviews.
COMPLETION You will receive a Referral form which is valid for one year. You can take this Referral form to any PADI centre in the world and they will take you for the 4 dives needed for certification as a PADI Open Water diver. Alternatively you are most welcome to complete your dives with Dive Balham and Dive Wimbledon so that you can spend more time relaxing on your holiday or join one of our holidays to Nuweiba in March 2010, Gozo in October or our other holidays in the Red Sea which we are arranging at the moment.

The PADI Open Water course is the most popular entry level certification course for scuba diving in the world.
DETAILS Upon signing up you will receive your PADI Open Water scuba diving manual, dive tables, logbook and video/ DVD. The course consists of 5 theory modules taught in 2 classroom sessions and 5 swimming pool skill modules taught in 2 sessions over 1 weekend, and 4 Open Water dives completed over another weekend. These dives may also be completed with Dive Wimbledon in Nuweiba in March 2010, Gozo in October or on another of our holidays in the Red Sea.
REQUIREMENTS Read and complete your PADI Open Water dive manual and knowledge reviews.
COMPLETION You will receive your official PADI Open Water certification card. This card allows you to dive to 18 metres (60 ft) with a buddy. It is valid for life but frequent pool refreshers and practise pool sessions are highly recommended. Dive Wimbledon has an friendly dive club and all our students are welcome to join so they can dive with us here and abroad.
