El Gouna June 2006

Duration : 1 week ( 2 - 9 June)

El Gouna is on the mainland Red Sea coast of Egypt just north of Hurghada. It is much quieter than Hurghada and the quality of the diving is better.

For beginners there are plenty of stunning and easily excessable dive sites for your courses. Lately they have been seeing sea horses in the shallows where you will be completing your qualifying dives as well as dolphins on some of the boat dives. For more experienced divers there is access to all the northern Red Sea wrecks which make the area so famous including the Thistlegorm, Rosalie Muller and many more.

We will be certifying Open Water divers as well as running Advanced courses and Specialty courses.

The diving will take place with the Dive Tribe which are located in the hotel.

Cost : £529 including flights, taxes, transfers, on a bed and breakfast basis in a twin room. Jane and I will be going half board which costs an additional £119. If anybody would prefer not to share, then the single supplement is £105. I have arranged this holiday through Regal Dive who are always voted in the top three dive travel agents in the UK by readers of Diver magazine. They are CAA and ATOL protected.

Hotel : The hotel is the 5* Movenpick Hotel.

The rooms are standard rooms with balcony or terrace, air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms with shower and hairdryer, satellite TV, mini bar and telephone.
Seaview and luxury suites are available for a supplement.

The Movenpick is a spacious hotel with it's own private beach as well as 3 swimming pools.

There are 7 restaurants and bars onsite including beach and pool bars as well as tennis courts, squash, kite surfing, gym, jacuzzi, massage, sauna, spa, hairdresser and beauty salon and internet access.

Diving : The diving is being arranged through Dive Tribe.

The cost for a 5 day ten dive package is £145. A 6 day twelve dive package costs £165. These prices include guide, tank and weights. Full equipment can be rented in Egypt for 25 Euros/day. If you prefer we can rent you the equipment for £10/day. For those taking Open Water or Advanced courses with Dive Wimbledon the equipment is included. We will be instructing the courses with a local guide accompanying us.

Visa : The Egyptian Visa is obtained upon arrival at the airport in Egypt for £12 for UK citizens though you may prefer to arrange it before your departure. For other nationalities check the Egyptian Consulate website as you may require a visa beforehand..

The balance of the holiday can be paid by cheque. Credit cards can be used but they incur a £10 charge leveled by the tour operator.
